Recently purchase a new mouse and suddenly your pointer is either dragging behind slowly or flying freakishly fast across the screen? This can often be caused by switching to a mouse with a smaller or larger dot-per-inch (dpi) resolution. As complicated as that sounds, it's incredibly easy to fix.
- Click on either the ⊞ (Windows) button or the magnifying glass on the taskbar and type in the word mouse followed by clicking on Mouse settings.
- Click Additional mouse options.
- Click Pointer Options and select your desired speed by sliding the pointer speed slider back and forth until it's comfortable.
