Despite purchasing a monitor the size of a small Volkswagen bus, or installing a multiple monitor array, do you find yourself short on desktop real estate? Are too many windows stacked on top of each other soul-sucking the life out of your productivity?
Great news! Windows has functionality built right in to help with this. It's called "desktop switching" and it allows you to have multiple desktops that can be switched back and forth using easy shortcut keys.
Enable multiple desktops
- On your keyboard, press the [⊞ Win] + [Tab] keys simultaneously. This will open a view allowing you to see all open windows on your current desktop. In the upper-left corner, click New desktop.
- Now that the new desktop has been enabled, tap the [⊞ Win] + [→] or [⊞ Win] + [←] simultaneously to switch between desktops.
- Repeat this process to create even more windows desktops!
